Making Progress Toward Lasting Change

Sexuality and gender are aspects of our identity that we all experience differently. Whether you identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community or a loved one does, this often comes with unique challenges for us all. So what can we do?

How Does LGBTQIA+ Therapy Help?

Being able to learn more about who we are and learn about the spectrums of sexual interests, romantic interests, emotional interests, and gender identities helps us feel empowered and develop a healthy sense of self. Therapy can help guide you in the coming out process, if this is a goal, and empower you to live the life you want for yourself.

If you are a parent or loved one of someone who has just come out or is exploring their identity there are different ways we can offer that person support and understanding. Engaging in individual therapy will help you develop an understanding of your own adjustment and process any barriers you may be having. It is important to express your support to your loved one, taking a non-judgmental stance regarding their exploration and identity, and expressing validation as they discover themselves.

If you identify with or are curious about the LGBTQIA+ community, therapy can be a great place to start! We are here to support you on this journey!
