As an LCSW, I’ve had years of experience and training working with a diverse range of people. Today, I have found my calling offering counseling solutions, using the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach. I first became interested in DBT and those who struggle with regulating their emotions when I was an undergraduate student. Over the years, I grew an interest in learning more about self-harm and the most effective treatments for those who engage in these behaviors. I was able to land an internship at The Institute of Living in the DBT program. This experience during graduate school gave me a unique exposure to working with those who struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, anxiety, and other affective disorders. I was able to learn how to treat those who engage in self-harm and other impulsive behaviors. I co-facilitated DBT groups that involved Skills Training, Diary Cards, and Chain of Analysis. I continue to use these techniques to support individuals either one-on-one or during group DBT sessions at The Harmony Center for Change.
