Susan Betalleluz
Group Practice Owner
Welcome to my practice.
Finding balance in your life can be challenging. My practice will help you regain this and provide you with the skills you need to cope with your emotions effectively. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduated from the University of Connecticut.
I’ve completed my Intensive DBT Training with Dr. Charlie Swenson a Behavioral Tech consultant and practitioner. This has allowed me to specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and offer Comprehensive Treatment. This type of treatment can help anyone that struggles with regulating their emotions in an effective manner. It has been proven to help those who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma and Borderline Personality Disorder.
I became interested in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and those who struggle with regulating their emotions when I was in undergraduate school. I grew an interest in learning more about self-harm and what is the most effective treatment. I was able to land an internship at The Institute of Living in the DBT program. This experience during graduate school gave me a unique exposure in working with those who struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, anxiety and other affective disorders. I was able to learn how to treat those who engage in self-harm and other impulsive behaviors. I co-facilitated DBT groups this involved Skills Training, Diary Cards and Chain of Analysis.
In my work experience as an LCSW I worked with children and adolescents both in an outpatient and intensive outpatient level of care. I also had the experience in working with adults in an outpatient setting. This opportunity allowed me to implement and facilitate DBT groups. This included Diary Cards and Skills Training days.
If you are struggling with your emotions and sense of self, please feel free to reach out to me. I want to help you understand and validate your own emotions. My specialty is treating young adults maneuvering challenging life transitions as well. I will help you find balance in your life all while learning coping skills.
Ian Friedrich
Hello, hello! My name is Ian Friedrich and I am a therapist who is dedicated to helping you live the life you dream for yourself. If you have ever felt your emotions have gotten in the way of your relationships or other areas of your life, then I am excited to work with you on validating what you experience and using these emotions to reach your goals. Using the DBT model we will develop skills and insight that will help you navigate future challenging moments. My role as a therapist has given me experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with Borderline Personality Disorders, who have experienced complex trauma, and individuals seeking guidance regarding sexuality and gender concerns. I have a passion working with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My approach to therapy includes utilizing DBT, relational, and psychodynamic work to achieve the goals you have for yourself. We will develop effective skills to help manage moments of distress and process past experiences that still feel like a heavy weight. The therapeutic setting is where we will utilize skills to become more assertive in our relationships, increase our comfort in being open and honest, and change our perspective on life.
I meet all my clients with compassion and my genuine self to help navigate the challenges that life often places on us. Therapy may seem overwhelming, however, I feel positive that I can guide you toward healthy changes. Imagine feeling a confident sense of self, facing challenges with a steady mind, and having meaningful relationships. These are goals that we can work towards together. I am here to support anyone looking to make positive changes for themselves, no matter what has happened in your past. I am excited to start our work together to confidently stride into your future.
